Every night when we put the boys to bed, they get to pick two songs to sing. Lately, their favorite song is Book of Mormon Stories. They sing it every night. Why? Because there are two verses about Ammon and Samuel. They think it's great there is a song just for them:
Ammon was a missionary serving lamanites
tending King Lamoni's sheep for several days and nights
robbers came he saved the sheep by fighting fearlessly
he had learned he must live righteously.
Samuel the Lamanite high on a city wall
came to warn the people and repentance was his call
arrows could not hit him for a man of God was he
he had warned they must live righteously.
Well, what do you do when there are no verses for Isaac and Benjamin? Isaac is not even in the Book of Mormon. It may be a stretch, but you make them up.
Here goes:
Benjamin, a righteous king did love his people so
gathered them around his tower and taught them how to know
They were all God's children and could live life happily
if they lived by His word righteously.
Now here's the stretch:
Isaac in Old Testament the son of Abraham
Was layed upon the alter and then saved at God's command
both were given promises for living faithfully
Given to us if we live righteously.
We can't leave Isaac out, now can we?

4 now let's hear it from you:
You are seriously soooooooooo talented and clever!! I love those verses and I think they need to be added to the Children's Songbook immediately! You're amazing!!
Way to go!!!! You could make your own personal song book and add those verses in. It would fun and a family keepsake.
I like that!!! What a great idea! Can we order some verses for our children, too? None of them are in the Book of Mormon, but they sing it all the time, too! Great job, Mom!
We sang that song every night too for each of our kids. They just loved it. What do you want to sing tonight kids? "Book of Mormon Stories!" They didn't have any personal reasons like you, but what a great idea and ever so clever!
