My New Favorite Quote:

"All can walk where Jesus walked when, with His words on our lips, His spirit in our hearts, and His teachings in our lives, we journey through mortality. I would hope that we would walk as he walked with confidence in the future, with an abiding faith in His Father, and with a genuine love for others." President Thomas S. Monson

Non-Stop Fun

I forgot how it is living so close to family. Never have we lived so close to so many of our family. Since we moved up here, there is always something going on, places to go, people to see, yadee yada.

Here is a brief run down of all of the events we've had going on:

Just as we moved up here, Mom and Dad came home. The boys are sure enjoying getting to know Grandma and Grandpa better and spend so much time with them.

With their homecoming, we had a lot of family come out.

Amberlee got to drive out with her three beautiful kids clear from Oregon.

Shauna came out without kids from Az and her twin sister, Shellie came out alone as well from NC.

Jeremy brought cute little Matthew from Texas and Mike's and Paul's  families drove up from Southern Utah.

We partied. A lot.

Not long after everyone left, Shauna brought the whole family out for a week.

We partied. A lot.

Then came the big move 100_0755[1] and the Haunted Train for Ammon's and Sam's birthday party.100_0760[1] 100_0780[1] 100_0763[1]

We were just getting settled in the new house when Shellie and her family drove out for the big wedding and got to stay here (we have two spare bedrooms right now for anyone coming out this way and need a place to stay - hint, hint)

We partied some more. A lot.

Living with Matt and Abby it was just one big party. They're still close enough we get to attend dinner for Bailee's birthday, ice cream with Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Max at Wendy's (it's tradition), etc.

Not to mention when Bonnie and Susie have a day off they can just hop on over for lunch or just come hang out.

Then we have old friends that live up and down the valley that we get to see once in a while, now. We had Paulette and Sassy and her 4 kids here for dinner the other night. We have so many others that we still haven't had a chance to hook up with yet.

The boys are loving having cousins so close they can play with so often and I am loving having sisters and mom so close. It's just one big party - nonstop fun on into the holidays.

All that being said, every once in a while, I have a moment to think about our life in St. George and the people we left behind and I really start to miss them. I meet people here and find myself thinking - oh, they'll never be so-and-so, or so-and-so. As I think about it, I know I felt that way when I moved to St. George, too and I realize that there are people here that I will learn to love just as dearly as those friends I've made everywhere I've lived. I'm reminded of the quote:

“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.”

3 now let's hear it from you:

I am all about making memories. They are the only thing that last. I am glad we live so close and are able to make some great memories.

Sounds like you are dealing with the BitterSweets. I am very happy for you and your move. Sad for the friends left behind.

I also have to tell you I absolutely love the new set up! Where did you get it? Do you pay for these designs?

It is hard to move on and leave others behind. And it's never the same if you go back to visit either. I guess we just have to cherish the experiences that we had with people and know that there's always more to come with new people who will become old to us. :-)
