My New Favorite Quote:

"All can walk where Jesus walked when, with His words on our lips, His spirit in our hearts, and His teachings in our lives, we journey through mortality. I would hope that we would walk as he walked with confidence in the future, with an abiding faith in His Father, and with a genuine love for others." President Thomas S. Monson

Primary Day

We hit a milestone, today. One of many we still have yet to come. While Shellie is sending her second off to college, we are sending our oldest to primary. I'm sure Shellie can remember the day her oldest went from nursery to primary and it probably feels like yesterday. I know it will not be long before this one is going on his mission.

First day of primary

He was a little scared at first, even though they've been practicing going to primary for a few weeks now. Mom and Dad were a little anxious for him, also. I can already tell I'm going to be a big baby when I send him off to school. I guess he did great today, though. I'm so proud of him.

5 now let's hear it from you:

Two tips for you:

1 Don't blink.
2 Good luck with number one.

We just sent #2 to primary today, and he did fine until I (Mommy) came in the room to sit with my class (I usually come in late because of nursing #3); once he saw me, it was trouble! I can tell this is going to be a challenge, specifically with me being there. And then to top it all off, #1 was in my class. So much for the last 2 hours of church being a break for me from the rest of my life, saving my sanity! Oh, well. No reason why I should be exempt from such things any more than anyone else. :-)

Tamster, for your sanity's sake,I would say it's time for a new calling.

It is always so fun to have one enter Primary. Just wait until you send the last one and you don't have an excuse to go to the nursery anymore when you are feeling claustrophobic from all the heat, perfume, cologne, and less-than-fresh breath floating around the small Sunday School room! They aren't as understanding of parents coming in to sit with the Primary age children especially when they are being so good!

Tami, ditto to what Sharon said.

Unfortunately, being a small ward, I don't think I'll be released any time soon. They have a hard time getting teachers as it is and need more, and I haven't even been in there that long really. In our ward, if ANYONE volunteered to be in nursery, they'd take 'em, no questions asked. And to top it all off, one of the Primary counselors just had a baby on Saturday, so she'll be out for awhile, not to mention they just moved and may be out of our ward--a whole other story--so they may be out a counselor besides teachers. I guess I'll have to find another way to save my sanity.
There is a new family who just moved into our ward (he's a pilot too), and she and I have decided to do a babysitting swap one day a week for a couple of hours each. That may help save my sanity. :-) And she's all for my suggestion of getting some volleyball going, so now that I have some support, maybe it'll happen. That would also help save my sanity. Here's hopin'! :-)
