My New Favorite Quote:

"All can walk where Jesus walked when, with His words on our lips, His spirit in our hearts, and His teachings in our lives, we journey through mortality. I would hope that we would walk as he walked with confidence in the future, with an abiding faith in His Father, and with a genuine love for others." President Thomas S. Monson

Bargaining 101

Life just isn't fair according to my some of my boys. And, I agree. Sometimes it just isn't. That's life. Of course, I didn't help to make it fair yesterday, either. I made a bargain with Ziki yesterday. As he's kicking and screaming while I'm trying to remove a sliver in his toe, I am promising him everything I can think of if he would just hold still long enough for me to get a hold of it and pull it out. Nothing was working. Not a movie, not a treat. Nothing. He was in pain and I was making it worse. If you could have seen the look on his face when I finally did get it out. It was a look of instant relief, mixed with shock and surprise that I got it out and it really wasn't as bad as he was making it out to be. So, he got a treat. The only thing I could find was a popsicle. The other 3 boys were extremely jealous. Where was their treat??? They hovered around Ziki, salivating like a bunch of vultures begging for a taste. They were practically willing to sell their souls just to get a bite.
Here's Ammon: "Please Ziki? I'll give you a big surprise."
Ziki: "Okay." (I still don't know what that big surprise was and neither does Ammon or Ziki)
Sam: "Please Ziki? Can I have a taste."
Ziki: "No!"
Sam: "But how come Ben and Ammon get a taste?"
Ziki: "Cause Ben's my fwend. He's nice. Yow not."
Sam: "Whaaaaa. Pleeaaasssee?"
Ziki: "Okay. You gonna be nice?"
Sam: "Promise."
Sam again: "But Ben got 5 bites and I only got 4. It's just not fair! Whaaaaaa!"
In the end, Ziki ended up with all of about 2 bites for himself and Sam was still complaining that it's just not fair. I probably should have just given them all their own popsicle. Maybe that would have been fair. But, the meany in me was getting a kick out of watching them bargain with each other. Wonder where they learned it from.

1 now let's hear it from you:

Ahhh the bargaining. I love it. Isaac is sweet to let all of his brothers have a taste.
