My heart is full. What an incredible blessing it was to be able to participate in the Oquirrh Mt. Temple dedication, along with thousands of other saints across Utah, today. That same spirit that I felt when I was 8-9 years old in the re-dedication of the Manti Temple was present there today, and I know even more today than I knew then that the temple is a house of God, and that the work that goes on in those temples is the work of the Lord.
I know I often take for granted the blessing of having so many temples so close. I often take for granted the blessings that the gospel has to offer. I take for granted the Atonement that is so central in all of our lives. The blessings of the Atonement, coupled with the saving ordinances we find in the temple are so important, and I am going to renew my efforts to participate in those blessings more in my life. I am grateful for a Savior who died for us. I am grateful for His plan of Happiness. I know He knows who I am and that He loves me and has a plan for me. I am grateful for the restoration of the gospel and the knowledge I have that we can be together as families forever. The blessings of the temple make that possible to us - to all of God's children. What an awesome feeling, isn't it!
My New Favorite Quote:
"All can walk where Jesus walked when, with His words on our lips, His spirit in our hearts, and His teachings in our lives, we journey through mortality. I would hope that we would walk as he walked with confidence in the future, with an abiding faith in His Father, and with a genuine love for others." President Thomas S. Monson

4 now let's hear it from you:
It really is a beautiful temple! I'm so glad you got to witness that. I can't wait to see the KC temple dedicated.
The knowledge that we can be together forever as families is knowledge that I cherish and hold dear to my heart. It was an awesome session and I left feeling renewed and uplifted.
The dedication was beautiful. And though, this may sound a bit odd, it gave me a greater appreciation of the Salt Lake Valley as well. Temples trully are the abode of Deity.
I'm so glad you got to attend! Some good friends of ours were there also (he was our bishop in our old ward before they moved and we moved and Brian's doctor & she was my VT companion and good friend) and took their grandson. She wrote today about what a wonderful experience it was & how Pres. Monson visited with their grandson and hugged him and what a wonderful moment that was for him...his parents aren't all that active. I love going to the temple!
