Cory and I were able to attend the temple, last night, thanks to Abby who has offered as one of her goals for her YW projects to watch our boys once a month so that we can do so. The Provo temple was closed, so for the first time since we've been married, the two of us were able to attend the temple that we were married in, together. I think I've been back to that temple once without Cory, since I was married there.
Walking into that temple with my husband brought back a flood of great memories. I remember that morning, seeing Cory walking into the temple. I remember sitting in the Celestial room with my sweetheart, waiting to be taken to the sealing room. I remember very well kneeling across the alter from my best friend and making eternal covenants with him and being sealed not just for time, not just until death do us part, but for time and all eternity. Forever. With my husband. With the man I love. And, with the children we have since brought into our home. What a privilege and a blessing. I am so grateful for the sealing power of the priesthood that binds us together not just in this life, but on into the eternities. I love the temple and am so grateful that we are able to attend often and remember those covenants we have made, to do the work for others who have passed on. I hope my boys will always know how much I love the temple.
What a blessing it's been in my life.
My New Favorite Quote:
"All can walk where Jesus walked when, with His words on our lips, His spirit in our hearts, and His teachings in our lives, we journey through mortality. I would hope that we would walk as he walked with confidence in the future, with an abiding faith in His Father, and with a genuine love for others." President Thomas S. Monson

3 now let's hear it from you:
I love the temple and I am so glad you guys are able to go as often as you do. I know from history and experience that you're family will be blessed for your service and sacrifice.
I am so glad you went together! Mike and I have to take turns. I am very paranoid about leaving my kids with baby-sitters (they are still too little, and there are so many of them, haha). You are setting a great example for your boys. They will be grateful for these lessons when they grow up, and will never take the Temple for granted.
Your wedding picture is so pretty! I liked this post. :) Glad you got to go together! I need someone to make me their goal.
