So, I just found out about these cool bountiful baskets. For those of you who have not heard about them yet, I wanted to share what I have discovered. For those of you who have, well, you can vouch for how cool they are.
Bountiful Baskets is a co-op that brings in fresh produce every week. They try to stay local, but they also have to get what's in season, so sometimes they get their produce from Az., Ca. and Mexico. Since it's a co-op, it's all volunteer and the produce is cheap. You don't know what you're going to get until you get there. Today was my first time and this is what I got:
11 roma tomatoes
5 avocados
2 lg. cucumbers
1 small bag of baby carrots
3 yellow squash
1 head romaine lettuce
3 lg oranges
1 bunch bananas
1 small carton blackberries
1 small carton strawberries
1 bag of apples
1 bag of peaches
and-
a coconut
all for $15 and all restaurant quality.
I'm thinking I like this. A lot.
My New Favorite Quote:
"All can walk where Jesus walked when, with His words on our lips, His spirit in our hearts, and His teachings in our lives, we journey through mortality. I would hope that we would walk as he walked with confidence in the future, with an abiding faith in His Father, and with a genuine love for others." President Thomas S. Monson

6 now let's hear it from you:
That's awesome. Both of my sisters do that too. One in Layton and the other in Springville. I wish they'd do that down here in New Mexico!
I do something similar to that here in KC....it's called Door-to-door organics. I got very similar things in my delivery. So far everything has come from Mexico. I'm anxious for the local stuff this summer.
I am SO BUMMED about this week! I tried to hard to get it this week but their site kept having problems with my checkout. I knew I was totally missing out. Sounds like a good one. :(
You should try their wheat bread too. My kids actually eat it!
Think of all the delicious smoothies you can make with all that. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!!
So glad to see Bountiful Baskets growing... It started here in AZ and I did it for years... I used to go and drop my basket and my $15 off at Sally's house here by me for pickup on Saturday. They sure have grown! And yes the bread is delicious. I have been doing a different one now called Green Bee Produce that is just starting up... BTW, where is this mission blog you were talking about? Email me dkimball311@msn.com. ~Deena
