My New Favorite Quote:

"All can walk where Jesus walked when, with His words on our lips, His spirit in our hearts, and His teachings in our lives, we journey through mortality. I would hope that we would walk as he walked with confidence in the future, with an abiding faith in His Father, and with a genuine love for others." President Thomas S. Monson

Jean, Jean

I'd like to introduce you to a girl I know. Bonnie_1983

Her name is Bertha Bonnie. Bonnie Jean.  Don't worry, she really is a lot funnier than she looks. Just go read her blog. She'll have you rolling.

It's her birthday today (okay, technically, one hour from now). She is just a little younger than I am. And, even though she doesn't look a day older than she is, it used to be that people always thought she was the older one, or that we were twins. I don't know, people may still think that, being she got married 10 years before I did, had 5 kids before I could even start on one, has more gray hair than I do, etc. That's okay, though. I don't mind looking younger.

It's a fortunate thing that she and I get to be sisters. Not only that, we are also friends. Sure, we may have had our squabbles when we were younger. I may have beat the tar out of her she may have beat the tar out of me a few times. I have the scars to prove it. It doesn't matter that she would steal my friends, or that I got asked as a sympathy date to my junior prom only because she wasn't 16 and couldn't go on a date with the guy who asked me when he really wanted to ask her. We're all grown up and past all that now. No hard feelings. Just to show you that there are no hard feelings, I want to give her a birthday tribute. I would like to dedicate this song to my sister, Bonnie Jean.bonnie2

Jean, Jean, roses are red
All the leaves have gone green
And the clouds are so low
You can touch them, and so
Come out to the meadow, Jean

Jean, Jean, you`re young and alive
Come out of your half-dreamed dream
And run, if you will, to the top of the hill
Open your arms, bonnie Jean

Till the sheep in the valley come home I don`t wait
Till the stars fall around me and find me alone
When the sun comes a-singin`
I`ll still be waiting

Jean, Jean, roses are red
And all of the leaves have gone green
And the clouds are so low
You can touch them, and so
Come into my arms, bonnie Jean

All the hills are ablaze with the moon`s yellow haze
Come into my arms, bonnie Jean
Jean, you`re young and alive!!

Really, Bonnie. I just want to tell you how much I love you and hope that you have the best birthday ever. Thanks so much for the never ending laughs. I'm so glad we're sisters and friends.

9 now let's hear it from you:

Since we are dedicating birthday songs to BonBon, here is mine---

My Bonnie lies over the mountains
My Bonnie lies far from the sea
My Bonnie lies far off in Utah
Oh bring back my Bonnie to me.

You were a wonderful little pawn, but an even better little sister.
I love you more now than ever and I adore watching you as a mother. You teach me tons.

I remember the day you came home from the hospital because it was the same day we got the birds and the bees talk. Good times.

Happy birthday sis. I couldn't leave my wishes on your blog but you checked the box right?!

And Sharon, you better watch out, I am sure Bonnie has some great birthday ammunition for you.

I just remember when I first saw you, I gritted my teeth, shivered, and said, "OOOH, I just want to eat her!" Scary, huh? I'm really glad I didn't, or you wouldn't be 29 today.

Happy Birthday! I love you!!!

I am still at the bottom of the worst sister pile....for not wishing you a happy birthday on the actual day? Does unpacking boxes get me a pass this time? I know, I stink...and it looks like I still have 4 hours and 10 minutes to wish Susan one today so that I can get back to the top.
